History of the Library
Library services has been available to local residents since October 1900. The Literary Society was responsible for opening the Liberty Library by donating and binding 250 books. At the time, the population of the village was approximately 400.
In 1913, the library was taken over by the village and housed in several different locations until 1936 when it was moved to its Walworth Street location.
April 1991, the library was moved to the “Old Post Office”. The building was purchased and donated by Carl and Elsie Hermach.
